Lily Eilan specializes in Middle Eastern, Islamic, and Israeli studies, a field she pursued while studying in Jerusalem and Oxford. Her dissertation depicts the social history of Western Galilee from 1936 to 1976. In 2023, she joined the HfJS and began researching frontier histories in Palestine, Israel, and Lebanon from 1926 to 1982 as part of the project, "Beyond Conflict and Coexistence: Toward an Entangled History of Jewish-Arab Relations."
