Affiliated doctoral researcher Gianni Pignone

Gianni Pignone earned his bachelor's degree in history and political science, as well as his master's degree in history, from the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg. His research interests lie in the history of the Duchy of Milan under the Visconti and Sforza, 14th- and 15th-century Italian Switzerland, and the study of foreignness, interdependence, and demarcation in cultural contacts in the late Middle Ages. The working title of his current dissertation project is “Cino as a transalpine area of interdependence in the late Middle Ages.”
