Sebastian Harnisch foregrounds the relational foundations of both agency and structure by applying symbolic interactional role theory. By studying leadership roles, special relationships, friendship, and enmity across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, he integrates a wide spectrum of theoretical, methodological, and empirical knowledge into his research and teaching.
