Doctoral research fellow  Freddi Rotman

The project analyzes how biographical and intellectual trajectories of key Jewish public figures who transitioned from Zionist, Bundist, or émigré backgrounds shaped Soviet anti-Zionist discourse. He employs six primary case studies, including Soviet figures (Chaim Tokar, David Hofshtein, Hirsh Bloshtein) and comparative analysis of Palestinian/Israeli counterparts (Shmuel Mikunis, Moshe Sneh, Joseph Berger). The research is positioned within "staging enmity" and "knowing the enemy" theoretical frameworks.
